Maharashtra Police Constable Syllabus 2026: Written Test Guide

The Maharashtra Police Constable syllabus covers a 100-mark objective written test in Marathi with four subjects: Arithmetic, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Intelligence Test and Marathi Grammar. Maharashtra Police runs the test unit by unit under the Police Constable recruitment rules, and the 2024-25 Police Shipai Bharti used the same four subjects.

The recruitment rules name these subjects but do not publish a topic-wise syllabus. The topic lists below are built from the official rules and from questions asked in previous unit papers. Use them as a working checklist, not as an official list. This page also covers the physical test, which you must clear before the written test, and a phased plan to finish the syllabus.

The rules do not fix marks per subject. Recent unit papers have usually spread the 100 questions fairly evenly across the four subjects, so plan for roughly equal weight but do not depend on an exact split.

Key changes to know

  • Physical test before the written test: Since the 2022 rule amendment, only candidates who clear the physical test with at least 50 percent, and fall within the 1:10 shortlist, write the paper.

  • Shorter running events: The run is now 1600 m for men and 800 m for women, replacing the older 5 km and 3 km runs.

  • Same four written subjects: The subject list has not changed, so previous papers stay useful.

Older pages may still show a 100-mark physical test or long-distance runs for district police posts, so follow the current rules on the official website.
