RPSC Junior Accountant Eligibility: Age Limit and Qualification

RPSC Junior Accountant eligibility rules come from the Rajasthan Public Service Commission's last cycle for Junior Accountant and Tehsil Revenue Accountant (TRA) posts, Combined Advertisement 08/2013-14. They set the degree, computer qualification, language and age conditions that candidates had to meet.

RPSC no longer conducts this recruitment. The latest cycle, notified in June 2023, was conducted by RSMSSB with different conditions, including a reported upper age limit of 40 years and a requirement to have taken the Rajasthan CET (Graduate level).

Educational Qualification

• Degree: A degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from a university established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the government. Degrees in agriculture, medicine, engineering or technology were reported as not counting as Arts or Science degrees.

• Professional alternative: The Intermediate exam of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India was reported as an accepted alternative.

• Computer qualification: One of the computer qualifications listed in the advertisement, such as NIELIT (DOEACC) "O" Level, COPA or DPCS, a computer diploma or degree, or RS-CIT, as reported.

• Language and culture: Working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

Age Limit

The age limit for the RPSC 2013 cycle was 21 to 35 years. A related RPSC notice for additional TSP area posts was reported to calculate age as on 1 January 2014. Upper age relaxation applied as per Rajasthan rules.

This relaxation table is indicative, based on Rajasthan's usual rules as reported for this exam. The EWS category did not exist in 2013, so RSMSSB cycles may show EWS rows that the RPSC cycle did not have. Confirm every relaxation in the official notification.

Nationality and Other Conditions

• Nationality: Indian citizens, plus subjects of Nepal or Bhutan and certain other categories allowed under Rajasthan service rules, some needing an eligibility certificate.

• Character and health: Candidates had to be of good character and medically fit for government service.

• Marital conditions: Rajasthan rules restrict candidates with more than one living spouse, and rules on children apply as notified.

Who Is Not Eligible

• No computer qualification: A degree alone was not enough without a listed computer certificate.

• Over age without relaxation: Candidates above 35 on the reference date, unless a relaxation applied.

• Wrong degree type: Degrees excluded by the notification, as reported for professional engineering or medical degrees.
