UIIC Assistant Cut-Off 2026: Previous Year State-Wise Marks

The UIIC Assistant cut-off is the minimum score a candidate needed in the online exam to move to the Regional Language Test. United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) set it state-wise and category-wise on the total score out of 250, with a separate minimum in each of the five tests. The figures below are from the last cycle (Recruitment of Assistants - 2023), as published on the UIIC recruitment page.

No new Assistant exam has been announced at the time of writing, so there is no 2026 cut-off yet. Use these numbers as a benchmark for your target score, not as a prediction.

Previous cut-off (Assistants 2023)

UIIC published one table applied on the total (out of 250) for every state and category, and a separate sectional cut-off. A dash means there was no vacancy in that category for that state. The sample below shows five states, with the unreserved (UR) column on the right.

The cut-off shown is the score on the corrected total after the penalty for wrong answers. It does not guarantee a final selection, because the Regional Language Test and medical fitness follow.

What affects the cut-off

  • Difficulty of the paper: a harder paper lowers the cut-off, and an easier one raises it. Where the exam runs in several sessions, UIIC equates the scores.

  • Vacancies in your state: states with few posts, or categories with one or two seats, can have a very high cut-off because only top scorers are shortlisted.

  • Number of applicants: more competition for the same seats pushes the cut-off up.

  • Category: reserved categories usually have lower cut-offs than unreserved, though not in every state.

How to set your target

Cut-offs change every year with difficulty, vacancies and the number of applicants. Treat last year's figures as a benchmark only, and aim for a clear margin above them rather than a bare pass.

  1. Find your state and category row in the official table and note the figure.

  2. Add a margin of 10 to 15 marks as your mock target, since this is a safe buffer in a stricter year.

  3. Protect every test: keep each test comfortably above the 5-mark sectional minimum, so a bad section does not remove a good total.

  4. Track corrected scores in mocks: deduct 0.3125 for each wrong answer, so your mock score reflects the real marking.
