UIIC Assistant Syllabus 2026: Topic-Wise Guide

The UIIC Assistant syllabus covers five objective tests: Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge. United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) names these tests in its Assistant recruitment advertisement and shows sample questions in an information handout, but it does not publish a topic-wise syllabus.

This page turns those official sample types into a practical checklist. It is based on the last Assistant recruitment (advertisement dated 14 December 2023), because no newer Assistant notification was listed on the UIIC recruitment page at the time of writing. If UIIC changes the structure in a future notification, follow the notification.

Honesty note: the topic lists below are built from UIIC's sample questions and from the way these tests are normally framed for insurance and banking recruitment. Use them as a working checklist, not as an official list. The official handout also says its sample types are illustrative and not exhaustive, and that actual questions can be harder.

Key points to know

  • No official topic list: UIIC lists test names and sample questions only, so treat any page that claims an official topic-wise syllabus with caution.

  • Five options per question: the sample questions have five choices, and several include "Other than those given as options" as the fifth. Practise this format, because it rewards checking your answer instead of guessing.

  • One shared clock: all five tests run inside a single 120-minute window, so the syllabus is a time-allocation problem as much as a topic problem.

  • Cut-off in every test: the previous cycle applied a minimum of 5 marks in each test, so no test can be ignored.

Is there a syllabus for the Regional Language Test?

UIIC publishes no topic list for the Regional Language Test. The advertisement requires knowledge of reading, writing and speaking the regional language of the state you apply for, and says candidates who qualify in the online exam must also qualify in this test. UIIC published instructions for the test separately on its recruitment page, so read them once your result is out.

How to cover the syllabus

  1. Weeks 1 to 4: learn concepts in reasoning and arithmetic, start a daily English reading habit and revise computer fundamentals.

  2. Weeks 5 to 8: add banking and insurance awareness, monthly current affairs notes and 20-minute sectional tests.

  3. Weeks 9 to 12: take full-length 200-question papers in 120 minutes, review each one on the same day and revise your error log.

Always confirm the final structure on the UIIC recruitment page.
