UP TGT study notes are short, organised summaries you can revise quickly in the weeks before the exam. The paper covers your subject at graduation level plus a General Studies section under the revised pattern, so good notes need to cover both without turning into a second textbook.
This page explains what your UP TGT notes should include, how to organise them, and how to use them alongside practice tests.
Table of Contents
What Your UP TGT Notes Should Cover
Part of the paper | What to include in notes |
|---|---|
Subject (90 questions) | Unit-wise key concepts, definitions, formulae, authors and works, dates and diagrams from your subject syllabus |
General Studies (30 questions) | Static facts on history, polity, geography and economy, plus Uttar Pradesh GK |
Current affairs | Monthly one-page summaries of national and UP events and schemes |
Teaching aptitude and ICT | Short lists of methods, evaluation types and common computer terms |
How to Organise Your Notes
One page per unit: Keep each subject unit to a page or two, so the full subject can be revised in a day.
Formula and fact sheets: Mathematics, Science and Commerce candidates should keep a separate sheet of formulae; language candidates should list authors, works and periods.
Error log: Record every wrong or guessed answer from your tests with the correct concept. This becomes your most useful revision file.
Compare similar items: Tables that set similar terms side by side, such as two poets of the same period or two economic laws, prevent the most common mistakes.
Sources to Build Notes From
Official syllabus PDF: Use it as the outline, so every unit in your notes maps to the syllabus.
NCERT and graduation textbooks: NCERT books for Classes 6 to 12 give clean basics; university textbooks cover the graduation-level depth.
Previous TGT papers: Add any repeated fact or concept from past papers to the relevant unit page.
Government sources for current affairs: Official scheme and budget documents are more reliable than forwarded summaries.
Revision Schedule
Daily: 20 minutes on the error log and the current week's current affairs.
Weekly: One full subject unit and one General Studies area from your notes.
Last month: Revise only from notes and the error log, not new books.
Build your notes from the official subject syllabus, which is published on the UPESSC official website. Our UP TGT syllabus page shows the units for each subject.
